Elizabeth, una galerista de Manhattan inicia una apasionada relación con John, un misterioso hombre de negocios. La película fue muy criticada, sufriendo una censura brutal tanto en Estados Unidos como en Europa. En un principio duraba 3 horas, pero terminó quedándose en 111 minutos...

Mickey Rourke está guapísimo y la bella y espontánea Kim Bassinger calentó al planeta cuando "solo se dejó puesto el sombrero".
